Bring a bag for your rubbish when spending time outdoors.

Are you planning on spending time outdoors? Play your part in helping to keep our environment clean and litter-free: bring a bag to take your rubbish home with you to throw away or recycle. Don’t leave rubbish next to a full bin. Litter ruins our great outdoors by harming our wildlife and polluting our waters. Remember, bins aren’t always available outdoors, especially in the countryside

Protecting Trees and Hedgerows in Dickens Heath

Dickens Heath Parish Council has been working closely with planners at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to address growing concerns about the pre-emptive removal of trees and hedgerows ahead of potential planning applications.

The Council has confirmed this is an issue they take seriously. Where such works are identified, they will consider them carefully as part of planning assessments and, where appropriate, through the enforcement process.

Residents can help by reporting concerns:

  • If tree or hedgerow works appear linked to a live planning application, please highlight this clearly in any consultation response and mark it for the attention of SMBC Landscape and Ecology.
  • If works are taking place before any application is submitted, please report this directly to the Planning Enforcement Team at: planningenforcement@solihull.gov.uk

Prompt reporting with site-specific details will help officers investigate and, where necessary, take action.
