Save money on energy bills this winter
With summer nearly over, Solihull Council is offering residents the chance to save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills this winter.
Solihull Switch ‘n’ Save finds cheaper gas and electricity bills for people by using the power of collective bargaining with energy suppliers. Solihull Council has managed the scheme since October 2015 and during that time has saved residents a staggering £1.159 million. The last Switch ‘n’ Save saved people an average of £212.33 a year, with some people saving much more than this.
The new round of switching is now open and it’s free to register to find out if the scheme can save people money, with no commitment to switch. Although the aim is to save Solihull residents money on their energy bills, Solihull Switch ‘n’ Save is open to anyone, no matter where they live, as the more people who join, the greater the savings for everyone.
Solihull Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Health, Cllr Karen Grinsell, said: “Solihull Switch ‘n’ Save is a really easy way for people to save money and in the last four years we’ve helped thousands of people to save money on their energy bills. Many people find keeping on top of energy tariffs and suppliers confusing but this scheme means we do the hard work for you and there is absolutely nothing to lose by registering your details. Most people who switch with us save hundreds of pounds a year.”
To register with Solihull Switch ‘n’ Save visit www.solihull.gov.uk/switching or call 0121 704 6000 before Tuesday 8 October 2019. People will hear after 21 October if they can get a better deal.
