Good News on Continuation of Bus Service in Dickens Heath
Parish Councillor Trevor Eames, along with other members of the Parish Council, has been working tirelessly on trying to persuade Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) to retain a direct bus service from Dickens Heath to Solihull when the contract is renewed early in 2019. A breakthrough came when Worcester County Council, who had withdrawn their subsidy for the S3W that crossed the border, changed their mind. They will now continue to subsidise the S3W and so the current service will be continued in the new contract. As TfWM have to go out to tender very soon, they will be including the current long service (once an hour) from Wythall to Tidbury Green, Dickens Heath and on to Solihull. It will be following much the same route as it does currently, but may be subject to a few minor tweaks. The short route from Dickens Heath to Solihull will also continue, and both the S3 and S3W will terminate at Solihull. The Parish Council are grateful for the support of Caroline Spelman MP and West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor Andy Street in this matter.
